There’s got to be something in the water... this place is a little slice of heaven, or nirvana, or whatever you believe in. If you’re looking for peace, you’ll find it by lounging on the rooftops, hammocks, or tourist-free beaches. If you’re looking for friends, you’ll find it in the purposefully cultivated atmosphere of hospitality and openness. This place attracts the type of people who make hostels great experiences. A clean, beautiful space with secure lockers, and all the necessities.

if all the reviews haven´t said it: just go. YES, you will extend your stay and YES, you don´t want to leave. we were told upon arrival (we were staying for 2 days) that we proabably wanted to extend our stay. we said.. yeah... ended up staying for 8 days. and it´s not just about the poeple you meet. i think you could meet anyone here and you´ll extend your stay. cool selfservice beer and served breakkie. the best part is that you pay for what you´ve had at the end of your (extended) stay.

WOW. I loved this place. When on Crete you need to stay here. Uli is fantastic, friendly and knows a lot about the area. The rooms are tidy and well maintained, lockers in the room, decent beds, you can even sleep outside if you wish. The bathrooms are detached but in good condition and clean. Great atmosphere. A very social hostel, you get to know everyone! Good group BBQs too! People keep coming back here and now I think I am going to be one of them! TOPS!

Hello, The hostel at Plakias, is one of the word´s best places to stay, but that will vary depending on the people when you visit. I can not think of any improvements that could be made to the place. Maybe a locker rather than a shelf for your valuables, but I am sure that Uli, would look after precious things for you. The breakfasts are delicious, with local bread and eggs, this is such a sociable place you are tempted to spending most of the day there, talking to fascinating travellers.
